Hyundai Plans Lowcost Model for Russia,latest news on I40/Sonata estate

Insideline report that Hyundai will launch a new Lowcost sedan for the Russian market.
The car will be a C segment sedan,share a platform with the Hyundai Elantra,  will  built in St. Petersburg.

The new car  will compete with the Volkswagen Polo sedan, which also was specially designed for Russia and  other Emerging countries by VW. The new Hyundai compact sedan is expected to be priced from around $10,000.

Hyundai hasn’t decided on a name for the new car . Media reports in Russia say it will be equipped with a 109-horsepower 1.4-liter engine or a 122-hp 1.6-liter engine.The new car’s suspension will be specially adapted to Russian conditions

Pre  production will commence in September, with full production ramp-up to begin in January 2011.

latest news on Hyundai I40Sonata estate.

Although Hyundai Sonata begin sale in South korea since october 2009.it’s will take time until this car arrive in European Market.The new Hyundai I40 estate will specially designed for European and will get debute in 2011 Geneva motor show.the saloon model will follow six months later.

Media report that the estate would be a similar size to the VW Passat and would not be as large as the Ford Mondeo or Vauxhall Insignia , nor would it rival these two for load capacity.the selling point will be standard equipment levels, which are tipped to be the most generous in the segment.

The diesel will fallow trend for downsizing.the 1.7 diesel will available in several power outputs.Hyundai claims the diesel’s low CO2 emissions will also be class leading and lower than 100 g/k.m.! may be the car not offer a larger 2.0 diesel engine.

The estate will arrive showroom in q2 of 2011.the sedan will arrive around december.
