Ford will produce hybrid versions of the five-seat C-Max and will export seven-seater version to America

When Ford announced its new seven-seat Grand C-Max last fall at the Frankfurt Motor Show, it also revealed that the new model would be coming to North America for the first time. In conjunction with the announcement today that Ford’s plant in Valencia, Spain would produce hybrid versions of the five-seat C-Max for Europe in 2013., Ford also announced that the same plant would be exporting the seven-seater to America late 2011

Ford is investing almost $410 million in the factory, including $36 million to cover the costs of the hybrid programs. The Spanish government and regional administration are providing grant assistance
“The Hybrid Electric and Plug-In Hybrid Electric derivatives of the all-new Ford C-Max are great news for the Valencia plant and region, for Spain, and for Ford customers across Europe,” said John Fleming, head of Ford of Europe, at a ceremony there Monday.
“Our Valencia Plant here in Spain will build these new C-Max five-seat hybrid models exclusively for European customers seeking a practical, efficient and affordable environmental vehicle.”
