And since US spec Imprezas are equipped with a 4 cylinder Boxer 2.5-liter , we may get a more powerful setup.expect the car to hit market in mid 2012 and for north American market will get the car in Fall 2012
2012 Subaru Impreza line up include hybrid

According to inside sources speaking with Road & Track  website and Ikuo Mori, president of Subaru, declared that the company will introduce a new hybrid vehicle in 2012.  The  Subaru Impreza gas electric hybrid engine will be a first hybrid car for Subaru and will be based on one of the company’s boxer engines.at 2009 Tokyo Motor Show Subaru display its Hybrid Tourer Concept ,the car which show some direction for Japanese automaker about  introducing a hybrid engine in 2012. the hybrid setup works with a direct-injection 2.0-liter turbocharged boxer engine. The concept version uses lithium ion batteries and uses two electric motors (one for the front and one for the rear), to help deliver optimum all-wheel drive performance.
