Suzuki will not develop car to rival tata nano, will soon offer hybrids, diesels and electric cars in emerging markets with its new partner, Volkswagen
Despite competition from Tata, known for building the world’s cheapest car, Suzuki has no plans to compete head-to-head with the Indian automaker. Currently Suzuki has a stranglehold on emerging markets like India, but Tata is looking to take a chunk of that with the Nano, which undercuts the already inexpensive Suzuki models.
Company boss Osamu Suzuki says that a cheaper car than the models it currently offers “wouldn’t be a car any more”.
Suzuki said he is worried about losing the safety and comfort standards in a super-cheap model.

Maruti set to sell a million cars this year
Competition in the Indian market might be becoming fierce but Maruti Suzuki India still dominates the charts.
The company is in fact going to sell a million cars in the Indian market in the fiscal year ending this month creating a new record.
Maruti has already sold more than 9 lakh cars by February and they just need to sell around 70,000 in this month to touch the historic milestone.
Suzuki is planning a huge celebration to mark this achievement. They are now the majority owners in Maruti.
