Mazda release Photos of new Mazda5 , will have debut at Geneva Motor Show in March
Mazda has released pix of its redesigned Mazda5 mini-minivan that will have its global debut at press days of the Geneva Motor Show on March 2.

The design team boast of its increased practicality, along with engine refinements that have reduced CO2 emissions by around 15 percent.
The new Mazda5 still has rear sliding doors and up to 7-seat flexibility in the spacious cabin, with an eye-catching exterior

Not surprisingly, the new 5 will wear Mazda’s smiling front fascia. It will also be the first vehicle to fully embrace the Japanese firm’s Nagare design language. As previewed on the Nagare and Furai concepts, the 5 will sport flowing character lines that run the length of the body. Mazda says the flowing design elements double as aerodynamic features and return a low drag coefficient and lift balance.

Powered by 1.8 and 2.0 litre direct-injection petrol engines, the 2011 Mazda5 features the company’s i-stop start-stop technology. Combined, Mazda says its direct-injection and i-stop technologies result in in a CO2 reduction of up to 15 percent.

Both the 1.8 and 2.0 litre petrol engines are paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Mazda has given no word on whether an automatic version will be offered.
